  1. You do like to put words in peoples mouth, I've never known you to keep a poor terrier and your knowledge of the countryside is good,I've said it before to you its not a contest, you work what you like and I have always just pleased myself, not out to impress or fool anyone,it would of been easy to carry on with russell types but I do actually see a bright future for Plummers, life is nothing without dreams or ambition, these little dogs have played a large part in my life and I make no apology because you or others do not like them, being trolled by lads that have not seen them work is part of ow
  2. Not really Tommy as I can't say how it really is as he has had me removed twice without warnings, Karma has a way of catching up when you least expect it,WM
  3. I agree totally but you do need a background to breed quality Plummers, I do not register any of my dogs, only breed from known workers and I do sell them for 350 a pup, you have to pay for quality if I don't know you but do gift to friends,WM
  4. Well my true test and yours differ, all my terriers work fox and that includes "Wilf",bolted a nice fox yesterday in decent company, your ex-mate John has a pup off me,your digging partner for years take him out and be educated, that bitch will do anything your bitch will and then some, she will surprise you, your other digging mate Gary has one also, given proper entering his should work below as well, you are beginning to sound like Foxdropper in your trolling of my Plummers, I have plenty of pics to ground and shot and retrieved above,Danny weighed in at 12lb in weight but he could hold a fox abo
  5. Never shown a terrier in my life, work only, there are many on here that seem to think that I've only ever kept Plummers,I'll put a few old pre-ban pics up if I get some time later,WM
  6. This is not that kind of dogging site mate, seek help as Morrissey can get addictive,WM
  7. Great footage Trev, real quick dogs you have there, I do hedges most days and appreciate how quick they've got to be,WM
  8. what are you on about ? the old boys didnt use terriers to bush fox ? They used everthing they had. The only time a terrier was slipped was to enter an earth ? its the new generation that has terriers on leads ,old timers didnt even have leads . where i come from anyway Then that would be your experience then wouldn't it,we worked terriers all the way down to B/ham regular and that was what we observed, WM
  9. Thats not very nice is it Mr D,its an open forum for comment and as I've bred a lot of terriers of ALL types for over 40yrs and have a sound understanding on genetics that gives me a voice to answer as I see fit,my post was in answer of Naveks comment that putting the best 2 workers together can still produce sh*te, if you would like to debate that then fine other than that keep it civil,WM
  10. Matt, that rabbit had the beginnings of "myxie" mate, just a wind up for the knobs and doubters that do the same LOL's, WM
  11. Great honest post Neil Cooney, unfortunately there are many still stuck in those dark days before legislation and not using firearms to despatch, they will be the ones that will end what little terrier work there is left,I always used a gun for a quick despatch but that was not a common practise among the lads that shown me, the biggest difference we did that the old boys didn't was the use of good terriers to bush fox to either lurchers or gun, they were very old fashioned gang handed and the only time the terrier was slipped off a lead was to enter an earth and sometimes it would be an all day
  12. But not as much sh*te as sh*te X sh*te will produce, its about limiting your failures, put the best dogs you can source together and you will be in with a chance, if along the way you find a terrier that produces good stock (either dog or bitch) then that is the way forward, some will say pre-potency or the ability to pass on the work ethic can only be carried forward by a sire but my experiences tell me different, I think a good bitch that can produce quality when mated to different sires that have pre-potency also, there are too many lads not able to pass a complement by sourcing the best about
  13. you just need a remote control rabbit lol,s that's where you are going wrong,TH had a good offer to see how its done for himself and if you were closer you would get the same deal, nothing special but they will kill anything put in front of them without infighting or being bad tempered,WM
  14. Who needs lurchers LOL's,caught on the run,pup thinks it has it until mum comes from nowhere to bail it over,WM
  15. I wish rabbits looked that clean and intact after my bushers made contact with them, whats salvaged would rarely keep a ferret fed.Useful looking mutts you have there mucker. They're out 7 days all year round so I'd be disappointed if they weren't catching, the rabbits don't look so clean when opened up or skinned but they go as hawk food or dog food so it don't really matter,WM
  16. No probs, its the internet and not a popularity contest, I don't really like you but you have mellowed a bit as W.Katchum,WM
  17. Always had my pups out for half hour or so here and there but only on farmland where nobody else goes with dogs, never had a problem, they get to see plenty from early, came ferreting for an hour today and had a free ride home in a game bag LOL's,should of called her "Plucky",WM
  18. I have been without a runner of my own since just before Xmas,I did think it might be time to just work my terriers but life can be frustrating without a lurcher and so after much looking around I travelled North to pick up my new bitch "SADIE", my wife had a moan as I went out the door as she could see her holidays abroad heading out as well but its water off a ducks back for me,met the lad and the deal was done, back in the early hours and I'm really pleased with her, some pups come in a house and just fit in and thankfully she's one of them, she hasn't peed in the house or anything, clean crate
  19. I have thousands of pics stored and video's going right back to the first vhs cameras and all the way up to now but like Fd that would still not be enough for doubters, even got some of you out and about, nothing to prove they are just for my entertainment, anyone thats been out with me and my dogs will know they do exactly what it says on the tin,WM
  20. A couple more of mine from the same line,WM then the same bitch that produced the above mated to a russell for lads that wanted Plummer/russells for digging only 2 dogs and 2 bitches that all have worked well
  21. In the early days the first couple we had off Plummer (pictured below) to try on fox were not really called Plummers then (1979), our main quarry was fox and they were good for 20 mins at best, you can see by the pics how weak their heads were, little mousey headed things but they did a job for us bolting easy foxes in parks and gardens, motorway bridges, scout huts, youth clubs, etc were we never had permission and couldn't afford to get caught but I used them as a base putting them to fells and patts that were being well dug to and produced some excellent workers that would stay,we always had othe
  22. No need for that, you can come out whenever you like and put your doubts to bed,you can even bring your cross,WM
  23. A three quarter bred collie/grey,lovely looking impressive bitch at 26 TTS" but lacked heart on bigger stuff, not what you would call "single_handed",WM
  24. 'TESS' a real capable bitch, just retired her but always gave her best, WM
  25. A couple of my mate "Dave Bird",real nice fella with his dog "Tor of Dartmoor" and his bitch, seen the litter with "Khan Jihad" born that night in Exmoor, WM
