Got up this morning at 2.15am to drive down to meet my father in law on the soth downs to have a good mooch with the dogs before it got too hot. Parked the motors ,let the dogs out and starting walking up the path. About 6 minutes later ,the deerhound bitch see a rabbit in the field to our left. Up she went straight over the fence. Looked like she just clipped the barbed wire and ran off. The rabbit was gone straight away and my bitch came back after a few minutes. Had a quick check of her and saw she was bleeding from her chest. I could'nt see too much so got her home and laid her down and h

Nice one cheers fellas I have been giving him cod liver oil for a while and that seems to help. I'll try some other supplements. What is that green rub?

Thanks for the replies fellas He is a half cross bull greyhound,a big powerful dog. I keep him in good shape but with plenty of rest. It's a real shame because he has some very good blood in him not that that means much but he is well bred by my father in law who has kept the line for 20 odd years . He has a home for life what ever . He guards my missus and son like a personal protection dog,it's the strangest thing lol He still does a little work so he's happy

Anyone had any experience with arthritis in young dogs? My dog fractured his hock about 15 months ago when he was 18 months old. The vet said he would suffer from arthritis. After he runs he is lame. I know he will never be 100per cent but was wondering if any one else has gone through this and what I can expect Cheers

Drives me mad really, have to be careful where I use him just wants to catch and kill. The dog is a maniac to be fair. Would nor be without him though. Guards my missus and boy like a rottweiler

Just wondering if anyone from on here is from any of the orkney islands? I'm in the process of buying a place up there. I'm planning on using it for 6 months of the year and the other 6 months working in london. I'm taking all the dogs with me so hopefully starting doing a bit as soon as I get the place. Anyone from there or worked dogs up there? The last few times I was up there the local pub landlord took me out with his dogs ,had a great time. Loads of rabbits an hares

Met my father in law this morning at 4.30am this morning to give the dogs a run before it gets too hot. I was up at 2.30 as its a couple of hours drive to our permission. It's about 3000 acres and holds a nice bit off game. The father in law has got a new dog so was good for him to meet the pack. They got on fine which is always got when introducing a adult dog into a pack

Looking for some advice really Looking to get a bushing dog to my team. I have a terrier that bushes well but drops in any hole he can find at any opportunity so am looking for a busher that's won't. Would like a dog that is eager to please, stays pretty close by and push out anything that's there and works well with the lurchers. Was thinking a spaniel any suggestions guys? Thanks

He's a half x bull grey,5th generation.

Now it's a bit better weather than usual the dogs like nothing more than lazing about in the garden all day. Had a walk for a few hours early this morning now they won't move all day. They seem to know the seasons done and it's time for them to relax, get fat and enjoy the little bit of sun we get.
