  1. Hi guys, I'm after a TX200hc and my local gunshop has them in at £399 for the gun only. Is that the normal rrp and any deals around the Cotswolds? The local gunshop rinsed me first time round on a 2nd hand norica dragon carbine £20 more than retail and I didn't know what I was buying. Did get some free pellets though( marksman) which were totally fecking useless! any help appreciated! Looking forward to a TX! Cheers
  2. Yeah the Mk7 is incredibly rusty having been stored in a slip for 20years. Just been plinking with it as it has a much nicer trigger than my norica. No idea how to pull the barrel through as its an under lever so god knows what the barrel is like. 4x scope is rather nice on it. I'm opening up to the thought of getting one. 9x is not needed.
  3. After spending a week formulating a standard of deciding when my accuracy is good enough for live quarry I decided to rig up something to test that one shot performance. So each initial shot is taken as if for real in real conditions. It was gusting so paused when need be. Going for the tacks holding paper targets on. The standard I've accepted for myself is land the shot at target within half inch at required distance Rifle is a BSA airsporter mk7. Just on loan until I get my TX next week. Pellets JSB exact jumbo .22 What are your standards before shooting live quarry and any
  4. Airgun carpentry... Sounds like a great idea thanks :-)
  5. Looking at improving at hunting orientated shooting fellas, as I haven't been airgunning 2weeks yet. So far I have 1 squirrel 2 pheasants and 3 pigeons in the bag... All eaten and lovely! Anyone have some interesting and not too contrived challengesto hone the shooting skills? How many pellets does it take to punch through a 2pence piece?
  6. I agree. But generally there are much smarter much higher paid people who have developed the best way for it to be done. and we adopt that. Play around with it as much as we like. And then, realise- yes its a lot less fuss for the same results to do it like the pros do.
  7. Bigmac shoots and eats 12mm bolt heads... Well ard'!!! Lol ;-)
  8. Off hand I think its 2votes for the 410 and 8 for the TX :-)
  9. Dear David Feck off. ;-) Lol ;-) no harm done fella, Only been shooting air rifles two weeks now. I agree about Macs grouping though. Needs less caffeine... Must have been shaking like a leaf. ;-)
  10. 30m standing unsupported AA diabolo hunter pellets .22
  11. Does anyone have wet weather hunting tips? Pigeons and pheasants seem to dissapear when it's miserable out. Where do they go? Thanks
  12. Pick up a gun, get a 5shot grouping @30metres, and post picture Standing unsupported only please :-) Weapon&pellet details too please ;-)
  13. Ahh got you! Yeah partner has a 6ft1 stride and I take 2 paces to cover one of hers. Lol :-)
  14. You're like a killing machine ;-) What firing position do you favour? I've always favoured the squat but the kneeling unsupported with B2 semi rigid boots is excellent.
  15. Managed a fine shot yesterday @35metres with AA diabolo hunters. From kneeling unsupported position. With a perfect shot placement. And spectators gawping and clucking... Mind is going overtime with the thoughts of how much better a TX200 will be.
  16. Charlie I thought it was 68 paces? about 55metres? I may have misread original post though. Great shot none the less. My rifle has zero penetration at 60-70 metres. Accurate enough to hit a telegraph poll at 70m with 2foot holdover
  17. After a nice little gun, Have either an S410 or a TX200 .22 in mind. What would you get?
  18. Yeah... I keep hearing about Hw 100s and pro sports but never see any pictures... We might stop believing you. ;-) ;-)
  19. .22 definately. And it shoots better with a stetson ;-)
  20. Done, and in freezer. Mrs needs to see what hunter has provided!!! Ahh chivalry
  21. Just had 5minutes so grabbed the Norica dragon .22 cheapo And skirted up the hill to have a look at a crow sitting about. After playing around with Some new JSB exacts and diabolo Field heavies this morning and rezeroing for my AA hunters I knew I was on at 1inch @30metres standing kneeling or squatting) The crow saw me and pished off, I untucked my ears from my hat and stalked back down the hill. I clocked a squirrel, (I've never shot one) 2 pigeons and 2 pheasants so far...) 25metres away and 15m up^^ Held under a mildot and fired- the POP gave Me an adrenaline spike!
