  1. Ive never seen anything that eats as much as this pup-maybe thats why hes growing so fast. Be interesting to see what height he makes. nearly 18" now. Id say he'll be the size of a small hound! Did you breed him/own his dam? all the best kvn
  2. hi, jack do well settled in know. Feisty pup. Very smart and easy to train, pics up a command in a few minutes but considers recall optional heres the beddy in the gorse, she pushes out all sorts of stuff, usually it just runs right by me. Next year it will be different with jack on the case: hes very good with the curi but dosnt know what to make of horses yet: this is his hunting grounds: all the best -kvn
  3. dont just look at hunting sites-most of them are not that good. look at other e-commerce sites.
  4. Theres nothing wrong with it if yours can do it. But if someone young or inexperienced was on here looking for a proper lamping dog and they read this post they might go out and buy a beddy and then there would be problems for dog and owner. and that would be bad. -kvn
  5. thats horrible. im not taking my dogs to any shows and basically plan to keep it a secret that i have working dogs. -best of luck getting the dogs back
  6. Anyone know where i can get the wide leather collars that are the same width along the whole length? Something that doesnt slip around when you have to dogs on a couple. I have a whippet type collar but it turns around when dogs on a couple. -best kevin
  7. This pup is a real pleasure to have about the place, even the wife likes him. Hes getting settled in now and gets on good with the beddy as long as theres no meaty bones about. Perfect pup, Just need to give him a good puppyhood now and then bring him on properly. thanks again sionnach

  9. we have a winner. 3/4 whippet. 1/4 beddy.
  10. Picked up a new pup over the weekend from a site member, who is one of the soundest sportsmen/people ive met in a long time. He is a fantastic pup, very feisty. pics dont seem to be uploading..
  11. hello, I'm looking for a monarch type rat trap, must accept paypal as payment. will pay 20 euro & shipping costs. new or used in good/decent condition. pm me with queries. -thanks kevin
  12. nice vid. try manual focus next time, it was annoying when it was focusing on the grass. maybe get a monopod.
  13. i came across a snapper that had latched on to a mallard duck once. it was in a small pool to shallow for him to drag it underwater. i watched it for about ten minutes then i freed the duck with a stick. i reconed it was going to be about the slowest death possible.
  14. >>>Watch a pack of hounds pick up a line and not only follow it but know which direction its traveling by the scent getting >>>stronger or weaker thats the most annoying thing when a dog runs the wrong way down a scent and the fox is off in the opposite direction. nose is at the top of the list for me. also beddies have the best noses of the terriers.
  15. Read good one recently called, The Lurcher, training and hunting by Frank Sheardown
  16. Hes seems to be honest for a politician-not just telling people what they want to hear. Hes got ballz. I like him on the environment and hes good on hunters rights as well. The Revrend Wright scandal made me loose a lot of respect for him but id still vote for him. Read a few blogs from soliders in iraq, hes not popular with them. As far as presidents that got shot i think all the ones that did were ones that were seriously opposed the federal reserve bank - i thing hes safe enough.
  17. how are they to eat mackem,?? never had one best kevin
  18. - speared a few flat fish mcgiver style with a homeade spear this summer. was out on estuary with kayak took spear to try and get some mullet but impossible from kayak. been out once with the otter board when i was a teenager, not very sporting but good for a feed... also was walking down down an isolated part of the estuary yesterday at low tide and found a 30 yard long gill net tied to rocks and with floats on top near a river channel. I was suprised to find that.
  19. I only ever had one jrt but based on my experience you cant go far wrong with one. Got him at 13 weeks old, he grew up with my toddler who was rough with him, never once turned on him. The thing about the jrt's is that they are highly trainable, so you might be able to train them to leave earths alone. Mine was good for bushing i could point him in he'd check the area was clear, pretty good nose - he wasnt as happy to go into the thick thorny shit though as my beddy (which is another option thats very good with kids and bushing). Anyway im ramblin. -best kevin
  20. Ive read they are the smartest of the long dogs but Ive never owned a running dog so id like something to compare them to. How intelligent are they compared with a herding type? Or a jack russell?
  21. nice job, you have to get up early to see those. ditch actually i saw one down by you a couple years back. it was in lough gillaroo in garrison fermanagh at dawn. brightened it up a bit:
