They are strung up on a bit of Para cord with separate strings to a knot on the Para. In fact last year I stored them in one of then old orange carrot sacks. Cheers Arry -

Yes mate they keep better strung up and its very easy. Except for the very big ones they are not suppose to keep as well but they will keep till after Christmas, I will use them first. Chose a variety thats reported to keep well. I grew a couple of new varieties this year so I don't know how they will keep. If you want to grow the big ones ( Suttons "Exhibition" )they are grown from seed and sown about Christmas time in a seed tray in home. The smaller ones although still a good size are grown from sets put straight in the grown after the last frost. The sets I grew were "Centuron" "Sturon" an -

A vasectomized hob would be very handy around here if somebody would loan one out. A lot of people don't like loaning them out as they reckon then can catch disease's of multiple matings. As the Gill jab around here has gone up this year by 400% and in some places its not available at all. Then if people have ferrets around you there could well be a demand for a vasectomized hob in spring and early summer. Cheers Arry

Well as the steak was cooked on the BBQ in the poring rain lol. Wifey thought I was mad but the steaks taste better than pan fried imo. I always freeze gravy left over from a roast Tomo in them Chinese take away containers, I just cut of enough to make the sauce. So I have say half a cup of gravy then about half a tablespoon of fresh cracked Peppercorns (Pestle and Mortar) then add Cream, if no Cream I use milk stirring in quickly. Then stir in the juices from the rested steak, if I happen to have Brandy I would add a dash. Rare these days. Makes a nice sauce imo. Cheers Arry

No mate halloween didn't really exist imo it was all about Guy Fawkes night and the leading up to it. The elders on the housing estate would send out gangs of younger kids collecting fire wood for big bonfire branches old furniture etc. No pallets back then but any other crap would do mostly branches cut out of the hedge rows. The big boys lol, would cut a young straight tree usually an Elm as a centre pole dig it in and the bonefire would get built around that. But it was a community effort and we would raid a neighbouring bonfire or burn it down or they would do the same to ours. Different

Nobody did Pumpkins when I was a kid. We took our soapbox trollies out to the nearest Mangel-wurzel field pick the best one we could find each and haul them home. Much harder to hollow out and carve but we did candle in them then hang them on a loop of string. Cheers Arry

Or be same for a Pheasant feed depending on where it is just a thing to keep the lid on and keep it in place. Cheers Arry

Think Joe was on the right lines. For fixing a feeder which had a lid pull back to fill feed then release so cattle cant knock the lid off. Cheers Arry
