  1. Rib Eye and Triple cooked chunky chips. Wifey don't like the Pepper Corn Sauce or the Mushroom and Onions. Cheers Arry
  2. Just if any body is interested this is what I got from the mud. Apart from the Queen Victoria half a crown which I found in a farm gate way on the way to the river. The large Bullet in from a 450 Martini - Henry Breach loading rifle issued in 1879 and used in Battles such as Rorks drift. The larger Musket shot is probably a Brown Bess .75" but has hit something so its distorted. The big brass thing is from a old cooker I think from the wreck of an old paddle steamer that still mored against the bank. Cheers Arry
  3. My thoughts as well it looks like a goat. Cheers Arry
  4. Used to be a lot of fish the River Dart Mack. In fact I used to seine net for Salmon from that very spot. It was a licensed boat all legal. All the licences gone now and so have the Salmon. Imo seals have decimated them. Was rare to see a seal when I was young, now they recon there are over twenty in the river. Mullet, Flounders and Bass used to be abundant, now its a shadow of its former self. Cheers Arry

  9. Carry on mate till it gets to difficult. The season is so short these days. We only had three but we were back at mine by 12.30. You know that does me these days, plus it got real warm by midday. My ferrets won't stop on a dead young ones so its not too bad. We done 100 yds of road hedge today but about 50 yds of that was one burrow. I didn't want to use two ferret as if two get hold its all over. They gave the ferret the real run around but by Christ was she traveling. Really enjoyable morning. Cheers Arry
  10. Well done Mooch. Yeah its great to have some dry weather but the young are going to force our hand to having to hang up the nets till next season. Got to try and give a mate off here a day out, he works off shore for a month at a time but should be back soon. Cheers Arry
  11. Young again today. It's a shame the weather is changing and another dry day. Only few hours for just three but nice and easy hedge. No pictures sorry forgot my phone on charge at home. Cheers Arry
  12. It's lovely stuff mate if you want it to come earlier then plant about March/April to come about December through to March, depending on how much you grow. Mine is late this year and not as big as normal as I never had a slot to put them in until the Onions came out in July. I would recommend "Rudolph" which is pretty bomb proof or a F! high breed call "Claret" which produces bigger spears. Cheers Arry
  13. Well picking it now mate. I planted it middle of last year. it takes a fair while to come but I like it. Cheers Arry

  19. I haven't put anything up on this thread for a while, so here's a few bits and pieces. A Medieval Annular Buckle. A Saxon stirrup mount. A Tudor rose broach. A Ox Ball for going on the end of Ox or Cows horn. A Lead Seal. George 3rd Sixpence. This harness buckle and horse brass I decided to clean up. I put a new brass pin in the buckle because the iron one had rusted away. Then put a leather belt on it for Wifey. Cheers Arry
