I broadly agree with that, however the question nobody can ever seem to answer is, who are “the rich” ? Because it seem arbitrary ?……like to the care home worker the bricklayer is rich ?, to the bricklayer the developer is rich ? And so and so on….the end result is, it’s not worth trying to earn more in case you one day get classified as “the rich” So nobody bothers, hence the situation you see developing in Britain.
