Bolt is regarded as the fastest human ever and no one will beat his records without chemical assistance . As he is the perfectly aligned human to conduct his sport . the idea of comparing him with a Kenyan who will come from a village where running is a cultural thing , is quite frankly ludicrous. read a book called “running with the Kenyans” and you’ll understand why . its a perfect Storm of physical attributes , the culture in an area of Kenya and the altitude
-
The only ancestry check I’ve done is on my surname. Not very scientific but it traces back through Ireland to Normandy and the Conquest and then to Scandinavia. Cheets.
-
See the subject of this thread. Please let's keep it to that.
-
Genetically of course not but she is British, if it was down to mere genetics then you, me and many others can't possibly be English because we have some Celtic DNA.
-
Genetically no, if she's saying this, then in my eyes she's a British citizen But actions speak to the latter not words.
-
Co-incidentally, Nana Akua is on GBNews right now talking about her heritage, she is, as Boisy would say , as black as Newgates knocker and her family is from Ghana, but she was born in Newcastle and insists she is a Geordie and English. She said she has no cultural attachment to Ghana and no “Ghanaian feelings”. So , is she a Geordie, is she English ? Cheers.

OMFG do you have webbed feet? You ain't just an immigrant, You're a bloody cnut from Norfolk. Broke my heart you did!
-
My brother has my dads missing in action letter that was sent to my Nan….its pretty sobering to read: Something like: ”Your son is listed as missing in action….” Cant fathom opening that letter and reading it as a mum can you….
-
Weirdly enough, I have a pretty rare Surname and there are few with it in the Nottingham area but it showed no markers in that area at all…..so we must have just moved around a bit, which makes sense.
-
So guessing from my research, you'll have (east Scottish, Anglo Saxon and Nordic) in your DNA when you zoom into it?
-
Going through his papers etc I've found my granddad's enlistment papers he signed. He wasn't called up, he signed up. I've even got the certificate papers that say he was "sten gun trained". Like I said, this is a bit of a question/history thread for all of us to add to.
-
Mine does when I zoom in, my matches are mainly from the Yorkshire region, which again makes sense.
-
It's not though is it, that's not selective breeding, that's circumstantial breeding. As Charts and I pointed out, the environment is the biggest factor. You give the people of Africa the same upbringing and they would succeed in any sports in the US.
-
Anyway, let's keep this a good thread and any advice or experiences anybody adds, thank you
-
So, nothing to do with slavery which you were implying? And what has natural biological traits got to do with selective breeding?
-
The mapping I got was way more focused than that mate, it actually went to a specific area.
-
No im not correlating it with slavery , im saying that the physical attributes of Africa American athletes is a by product and legacy of selective breeding
-
Yes, they are a good tool for tracing family members, current and past.
-
Easy a certain area in Kenya aligns with the culture , eugenics and altitude this is too simple mate
