    They are melanistic eastern grays mel,but the blacks actually seem larger than the gray version,maybe because black stands out more?I saw a few black grey squirrels in the UK,near Milton Keynes,they are still just greys.

    It's a little red squirrel,my Mrs would go ballistic if I killed one of them for killings sake,she has eaten squirrel as a kid but not reds.

    Out fishing,had one tiny crappie so far,got here earlier than my brother in law so followed a set of coyote tracks down the river,it made a bee-line for every beaver and muskie den on the ice,there was a few otters fishing along the edge of the ice earlier.

    Yup theres pike I there. I live maybe 20 minutes? from Wraysbury lakes,that's all calmed down now.

    I remember we used to lamp the fox down on Mud-chute,the Isle of Dogs small newspaper had headlines “Gypsies hunt Mud-chute foxes” I went back earlier this year we had the caravans on Grenade street and Rich street,I couldn’t find where we were parked as the area is built up,progress I guess.

    No Wilf,I have never frequented bars nor drank as I saw enough alcohol related violence as a kid to convince me I didn’t need that in my life,but I have seen drunks in other countries having kick offs,it’s a drunks being drunks thing and not confined to Blighty.

    I think I am past that stage Mel,I have done the 100 rabbits in a day,100 salmon in a weekend (netted),those turkeys were just sitting there,no hunt involved,it would have been killing them just for killings sake really mate,it’s an incredibly hard winter and they are going to have to get through it,killing just to flatten them isn’t what I am about nowadays,I am not a pest controller,most hunters also actually have compassion for animals,pick an injured bird up etc,like I said once it gets to just killing for killings sake I am out.I ain’t all homo though,going out on a frozen river today ice

    Been out the past few days and not seen one single squirrel,even feeding the birds on the trail behind the house where I normally have a few running in to take advantage of the free meal,thick snow and incredible cold keeping them holed up.
