I used to use shavings, but got some vet bed, just washed it for the first time, ready to go in the drier now. excellant stuff.

I use the waste off cut's from Tea-bag's, it does'nt squash down like paper and last's for age's a bail of it for a tenner last's a year easily.

 

 

What's the name of this stuff mate, as i'd like to see if i could get a bale of it in my area.

shreeded paper top it up everynight it tends to go flat take it out and burn it add fresh every weekend .. all free from a big company near me .. my sleeping boxes are lined with carpet off cuts ,,

i put vet bed in the summer as its easy to wash and shredded paper in the winter so they can burrow into it i get it from my local solicitors office

Like TT: vet bed in summer: just for something soft to lie on: stops kennel sores and dogs are more comfortable. Straw in winter: lots of it: wet cold dogs back in from work can burrow into it and dry off fast; roll around in it and mud just falls off their coats. Change it every week and burn old. The only thing to watch out for is ticks and fleas from straw: I regularly spray the kennels with Acclaim 2000 or Indorex (not for use on the dogs themselves: kills eggs and larvae as well as adult fleas etc)

easi bed wood shavings good gear stopped them from ripping blankets too bits soaks up any damp left on dogs after they've been towelled down from a walk in the rain,plus they dont get a rash like you do off some straw

There is no label on the bag mate, i get it from my local pet supply's when i get my beef and tripe, it's near Carlisle so maybe a out of your way, i'm not sure where they get it from but i will ask next time i,m there, it's the best stuff i've used.
