Malt 379
Good on him! And well done to the British media (for once!) for the blackout that allowed the fella to go and do what he's been trained to do. Trust the yanks to spoil it though, he'll probably have to come home now.
Waz 4,293
I reckon the american media were given the go ahead to report on it, he probably would have already been safe. Well done to the lad, fighting for Queen or nan in his case & country.
Simoman 110
Good on him I say, although i think now the story has broken he should be redeployed for the safety of both him and his unit............
mad al 146
Usually in this sort of situation and we see it on TV/papers/media it's already a done job
Missie 1
I think its disgusting that he wasn't going to be able to do what he has been trained to do, and very frustrating for him. I understand the implications of him being somewhere like Afganistan but he signed up for the army, he should be allowed to fight with his men like anyone else. ChrisJones 7,975
It's about time one of the idle b*****ds got a real job. Besides it's probably a ploy to get him home to grandma...

BlueCoyote 0
there was a time when it would be shameful if you didnt fight in at least ONE battle!! i bet he is mortified.... let him grow up and be a man! he would probably prefer to be hit by a stray bullet than die in a car crash while being hounded by the media his whole life.. i dont remember when i saw this on the news ... Wednesday or Thursday .... but i was disappointed to say the least. and even more so when i heard he had been sent back home. chartpolski 28,455
I appreciate that he was there, but why did the media have to stage manage some things ? He is an Officer and a Forward Air Controller; so why show him manning a HMG, and doing a street patrol ?? As a Cavalry Officer, he wouldn't have been doing this. Being a FAC is a dangerous enough job, and good for him for doing it, but why embellish ? Cheers.
BlueCoyote 0
but thats the media! they always do that.... in everything.... the dog is always a pit bull, the robber is always black. that sells papers and gets attention. old school tricks.. my first thoughts were "Are they TRYING to get him killed?? Might as well paint a big red X on his chest" .. but then i found out he was sent home. i wonder if he'll sneak off and do it again....
Guest craftycarper
probably didn't even happen, photos probably taken in a studio, footage probably computer generated.....i suppose i shouldn't be so negative...good luck to him if it did take place though, bad enough for an ordinary guy being out there let alone someone of his royal status after all the publicity he has had recently staggering out of clubs in the early hours....
