That’s the mother, I won’t put pictures of the dog as I used a buddies dog for an outcross this time. We knocked a litter out of this bitch to her half brother near two years ago and there all shaping

Worked a whippet ferreting and on the lamp she never ever yapped......small dogs will tend to yap out of frustration especially on quarry there losing ground on......whippets are excellent rabbit dogs

No such thing as summer hunting when the c**ts are prowling around looking for young livestock to take. Totally different to what we do to what gunters doing.

We do leave them alone like bangers but there's spots they'll not let you hunt all year there's a couple of spots were there's stuff out all year then you get 2 or 3 weeks to hunt it and there's a couple of boys bring us up round shoots and stuff but I like Giving them a break round places we've got permission

But if the land owner wants them taken care of you can't say no can you mate. It's a catch 22. To the land owner your there to do a job. To some of us hunting isn't a job. It's a passion that we want to keep going. To the land owner they want rid of what's causing them the problem. Like Mc for instance haha. They want rid of that tool. Haha.

I'm convinced its frustration. My current whippet will occasionally yap when ferreting if he marked and knows there are rabbits about but none are bolting. Its annoying as I've never had a lurcher yap, but its maybe a few occasions in a few hours and it has'nt made my collie x yap and losing my shit just makes more noise 😉

Now he's never made a noise when running any quarry or during racing (mental while others are racing though) . But he is a serious athlete at nearly 40 lb and about 22" so he gets up to quarry quickly and is in the mix when racing or lure coursing

I love whippets acceleration, agility and easy temperament, amazing nose for marking (although tending to only use sight once they are on rabbit ground)  but I have to admit a whippet x greyhound of similar height is usually quicker
