Jamaican, Maltese, Russian, Ukrainian, Irish, Italian, German, Polish and some I knew were foreign but I didn't know the nationalities. Some of the ethnicities can be explained by the fact that it was a Catholic school

I presume some of the parents were refugees, some ex POWs, some immigrants and I was familiar with the term 'jumped  ship', so I guess some were the sons of illegal immigrants.

There's pressure groups and lobbying groups for every interest or section of society except us. Politicians are having their ears bent and bungs given for 'causes' which are  not in our interests. Far from it.

As the only leftie in the village, I promise to be quiet when we get the same levels of civilisation as the nordic countries. I would accept French and German civilisation as a step forward along the way.

I'm talking  employment pay and conditions, sick pay, parental leave, unemployment pay, proper pensions, a top class health service,  a free education service from cradle to graduate level and other decent public services like roads without craters in them.

Its not much to ask for a rich country like ours. But the sweeties are not being shared out. The fat kids are eating them all. A certain level of inequality is inevitable, but our level of inequality is the highest in developed Europe. And worsening.

Interesting seeing the response to this war (and the Epstein saga) from Trumps base. Just regular god fearing patriotic hard working Americans. Kinda the same shift in feelings that we are seeing towards Farage in the UK. I think the Republicans will get murdered in the midterms.

I don’t think it’s likely but I wouldn’t rule out criminal trials tbh. Trumps tearing up the sort of political norms that protect presidents.

The polls strongly showed the Americans were strongly opposed to the war before it started.

Now that American servicemen have been killed, the Strait  of Hermuz effectively closed indefinitely  and prices rising, Trump is in big trouble with his electorate. His poll numbers, or his ratings, as he likes to call them are plummeting.

He can't pull out of the war without looking weak and the yanks seem to have been taken by surprise by the Hermuz closure. So much for intelligence planning.

Hesgeth is a f****n lightweight neanderthal, appointed by Trump, and disliked and distrusted by most Americans according to the polls.
