Youll not want to come home mate, all truth be told, would you ever consider out there for a better life?

Do you know what mate, we often.have these chats, but, we're really lucky, we live in a beautiful part of our country and generally I really can't complain about much... im not blind to what's happening in the UK, but I think there are issues everywhere you go, its what you make of life in the end I suppose... my ideal would splitting my time between places, maybe that'll be the USA in the future, who knows...

The whole experience has been amazing though, the Stares is an amaxing place to tour..heading for our last stretch down the Pacific coast to San Diego, think we might even book flights home later today lol...missing a roast dinner and a proper cup of tea lol

What a place! Never fished anywhere like it, I could live here no worries..  Put a live bait down on 15lb class gear and caught a 8ft lemon shark... God knows the weight, probably 200lb or so..

We met with @Rickshaw swamilast night, once again thank you mate for your time and generosity. We had an amazing dinner, talked for hours, hunting and fishing dominating the talk, but history, music a

Well plans changed slightly, we stayed in Alabama and drove down to the gulf coast, stayed a night in Birmingham and spent some time in the civil rights museum, interesting place abd we were the only

Well we made it started on the east coast in the Florida Keys on 27th Devember, after an amazing road trip through 15 different states, we arrived on the pacific West Coast this evening... and the ladt 2 days drives have possibly been my favourite, Death Valley from Nevada into California was something other worldly, recorded as the hottest place on earth it had mountains, sand dunes, salt flats that look like huge lakes from above, canyons and a ghost town on the way in, finishing with driving through a desert into the dark.....it had the lot.., but the drive today from Ridge Crest to Santa Cruz, wow..I mean it was just something else..  we knew this would be our last big drive so took every minor road, scenic route possible and made a full day of it, even found an off road track up into the mountains in the sequoia national forest, im not sure we were allowed up it in our truck, but i found an open gate and thought f**k it..lol...it was a 1 track, mud rut road.. had the wife hanging on the door a few times lol, a tree across the track after 30 mins of climbing up the track put a stop to progress and we had to turn around and get back on the "proper" mountain road lol.. the best 1 hour wasted in a journey ever lol... from there the scenery just got better, dropping out of the mountains into rolling green hills, huge hills..like Dartmoor on speed..lol..then down into farm land with ground squirrels everywhere... we also stopped at the best diner we've been in... finally into the flat lands that were covered within vineyards, orange trees, fruit trees everywhere... it started in the desert and ended in something like lord of the rings merging into the Sea!... so we're in Santa Cruz and now we'll travel slowly down the coast, hoping to do no more than 2 hours a day driving...but today's 9 hours, including breaks, photo stops, diner, getting lost up a mountain...was my favourite so far

Superb trip so far,and it’s not over yet 👍🏻 most people will only see those places on TV,makes you realise how crowded the UK actually is.Imagine the wagon trains crossing the old west to reach the fertile lands of California 🙂If you have time are you going to Napa valley?

Ive been saying similar most days, that drive from East Texas to California is massive over the most harsh terrain imaginable...the thought of doing that in wagons and horses, is crazy...would've been amazing too lol..

We wont get to Napa Valley, weve headed South out of Santa Cruz, only done 75 miles to get to Big Sur... another great day and nice to reduce the driving... oh and we changed our flights from Friday to Monday, so will get a weekend in San Diego... not told the kids yet lol
