Hi viz work waterproofs?

Recommended Posts

Out of interest any of the lads on here who work outside on the rail or ground works etc recommend any decent hi viz waterproofs? The ones we get given and the types you get from screwfix are pretty poor. There's some police goretex ones on ebay but its a lot to shell out if they're as shite as the ones we get.

 Cheers

What ye after tho a water proof goretex shell or a big heavy coat?

Proper coat preferably mate, out in the shite digging trees up all winter ain't good on any clothing so a thin shell might suffer.

If I was you I think I’d try the kaiwaka tbh mate they pricey but best iv had for digging in mud, unless it’s all thorns, maybe have tk use a hi viz vest on top

on farm I use a big heavy hiviz jacket w mate got me off oil rigs, don’t know much about it other than it’s rated for everything haha an bombproof an I’ll be gutted when I need to replace it

I've found wearing a hi viz vest over the top of a jacket holds the water on it and encourages leaks.

There's some proper looking ones on the link that Borr put on but imagine paying over 300 quid for a coat to find out it leaks like a 30 quid jobby I'd be gutted. Does your mate on the rigs get any more??? 🤣

Kaiwaka or beta craft not the cheapest but if your out in all weathers it’s worth the investment if you want to stay dry and warm  and they’ll last you years, rather than paying for shite and replacing them every year

I don’t know who makes it but the British army rip stop water proof over trousers and jacket are class…..maybe the maker makes a hi-viz version ?

I wear a Helly Hansen Alta insulated suit but you can get separate jacket and trousers. Still going strong after 8 years apart from all the rips from the towers lol
