jukel123 9,538
Pink feet geese high in the sky announcing their arrival. Wood pigeons are throatilly humming their contented coo and Bob Robin looking scruffy after the moult,is cheekily helping himself to the dog's grub. Insects of various kinds are mobbing the various insects friendly flowers we planted for them. Just for a few hours at least, all is right with the world Edited 6 hours ago by jukel123 8

Those pics have my adrenalin going. I used to do a lot of goose shooting. Once took out 9 pinks with two shots. I love to hear and watch them now. As soon as the shooting season ends, they immediately become much more tame and easy to observe. Don't ask me how they know, but they absolutely do.

I have been up every morning since I got here before dawn just to listen to hundreds heading south, and walked an estuary yesterday listening and watching fish jump and torpedo through shallows,I appreciate the little things in life.

Drives my Mrs mad when I stop and reverse to eyeball a particularly interesting road kill. I used to regularly travel to Aberdeen to see my grandkids. I once counted over 70 pheasant kills on a particular stretch of the motorway and over 20 mountain hares on a few mile stretch of road passing through Glenshee. I used to let my whippets course them when it was quiet. You can always claim they were pets and had never done that before. The hares are stupid . Even Mc'hulls desert dogs might stand a chance.
