All the local pubs had domino handicaps on a Saturday and Sunday morning, very well attended and good prize money. Also had darts and pool handicaps and the whippet lads would all be in there after the racing , arguing who had the best dog and throwing out challenges ! Now it's families with kids out for dinner on a Sunday and everyone watching football on a Saturday, pubs aren’t what they were, well at least for old Luddite’s like me !
