TonyT 1,674 Posted Tuesday at 11:15 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 11:15 To all terriermen who are wrong side of 50, youll know the feeling when someone half your age jumps in to do abit. Fact of life I suppose. Some dogs must be same. It seems like last year i bred a litter trying to get a border/ lakey type. failed and got mongrels but wastage was low to be fair to em. took em out today and thought the bitch looks old and shes only 5 at christmas. Time flies but hell of a bitch that Ive spoilt abit on tough days. 8 Quote Link to post

fireman 11,364
Comes to us all dogs and humans alike and we do all sometimes need telling to slow it down a bit, my old plummer bitch was still being dug to at 10 just about every weekend and the odd one at 11 years old. She was never a hard bitch but one who would hold her ground but she never got herself smashed up so she lasted it out and yet some dogs iv'e seen are old by 2 or 3 years the way they worked, but knowing your dog is what is important and even more knowing when to quit the dog before the dog knows when.. 1 Quote Link to post
Aled 570
Yep my wildfowling and rough shooting dog has really aged this year, he's 8 in November, hoping we'll manage a few seasons of moderate shooting. Quote Link to post
