Those that know, know mate…….everyone is polite enough not to mention it on the podcast.

But, my lad said yesterday watching that final “this is tragic” and I replied with what is, imho, the go to response for all sport….i said “It is, but, they are playing in one more European final than you or me have ever played in”

There it is…..

Im just curious mate.....would you say the same about wheelchair football ?......walking football ?.....blind football ?

Yes they might play in a European final but its complete pony and we all know it......should such low level sport be given as much coverage and recognition as elite sport with a " well turn it off if you dont like it " attitude all of a sudden ?

Think you know where im going mate.

No shock to see that whatever the popular opinion is on a thread you go the opposite way... If everyone on this thread had slated them you would have been the only support.. We can always co

I can honestly say, that I've never watched a game of women's football in my life...nor would I ever entertain watching one...makes me cringe listening to female sports pundits, and the f***ing jokers that entertain them on the box...infact I can't stand listening to any sport, where you get some ,has-been telling you how a game should be played🙄when they was some second rate player themselves 👍

Every day at work someone will say how the game should have been played ,armchair pundits !!! Yeah I stack pallets but I could manage a football team lol

She won't be at 15/16 though mate.. as my previous post i would actively encourage girls to get into any sport, ots good for your body and mind, it's only positive...but... there is a massive push to put the woman's game in the same light as the men's and for most lads that's watched/player football all their life the contrast is stark.. incomparable really..

I watch the Gary Neville podcast, you've got Jill Scott on there, I like her she seems a decent type... but she's conversing on equal terms with Roy Keane, saying about how they both played midfield and his tough the position is etc... im sorry but when she was playing the woman's game was still amature, they played in front of 50 people on a Saturday morning...Keane was possibly the best midfielder of his generation winning champions leagues and premiership most years... she's in that conversation because she's a woman, and it ticks a box... as I said she's a decent sort, bit of a laugh etc...but cmon

I agree mate me daughter I can't really getbinto the football.like I would a lad

No, of course it shouldn’t mate, but it is…..we all know the score.

Whether it should be ?, I genuinely have not thought about it but off the top of my head I’d rather watch women’s football, walking table tennis or whatever than Love Island.

Again, off the top of my head and not a strong opinion, it’s better something at least half a touch patriotic than some “poor me” f***ing Gaza bloke telling us it’s not their fault.

I do.....but whats that got to do with it getting too much coverage......Cbeebies isnt on both mainstream channels on a Sunday aftenoon because it doesnt warrant the coverage....but yes you could still turn it off if it was,so what.

Well it seemed pretty well received by all accounts 12 million watched it in the UK...and I suppose that's not counting pubs and other such places where 100,s of people watched it together....so obviously a good number of the population like it...

Hopefully it brings a bit of feel good factor to your country and unites yous that bit more , momentum seems to be finally building gradually amongst the common man and women  so hopefully that results adds to the togetherness that yous need to get out this mess

The penalty’s were a decent insight into the difference between women and men, it’s absolutely stark when you see how little power women can generate out of their legs when striking the ball.

Kelly struck the last peno brilliantly compared to the others, fair play to her and fair play to them all…..back to back major honours, can’t take that away.

I made a point of watching the game. This was after spending a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon in the company of one of my nieces and her friends, most of whom are very good footballers. I've never enjoyed watching the professional women's game or more importantly understanding their demands for equality when it comes to wages and recognition in the world of football. There was good give and take banter. But it dawned on me that perhaps I am prejudiced and even misogynistic without realising? So watched the match.

It was OK. Then came the penalties. I posted on their WhatsApp group:

Lasses, you do know you're allowed to aim for the corners right?

I was duly crucified.

"It is never difficult to distinguish between a ray of sunshine and a scotsman with a grievance." PG Woodhouse.

Did you not enjoy the Spanish girls being sent homeward to think again?

What has nationality got to do with what I posted? I’d have said exactly the same thing had the Spanish won. I find women’s football excruciating to watch at any level.
Not the first time you’ve brought my nationality into a thread, maybe it’s you that has a grievance.., or maybe some sort of penis envy?
Oh, and it’s PG WODEHOUSE you fcuking philistine. If you’re going to quote someone at least spell their name right.
