No shock to see that whatever the popular opinion is on a thread you go the opposite way... If everyone on this thread had slated them you would have been the only support.. We can always co

There’s plenty “gets pushed down our throat” if you choose to let it happen, you did the best thing for you and didn’t watch it, hence it wasn’t pushed down your throat.

I did the same with the take the knee stuff and got called all the daft c**ts under the sun…..

Its just how it is, we all have a choice in these things.

There was no motive behind me watching it, I just don't like watching womens football as I think the standard is very poor. But then again, I haven't watched it in yonks so I couldn't really say! Lol

One thing I will say is, that final yesterday was way more exciting, physical and technically demanding than any game of Gaelic football you will ever watch !
That’s why football is the biggest game in the world !

Watched the first 20 minutes and then had to walk away the 2 best womens teams in Europe and they dont have the speed or intensity of a boys under 15's game.....came back and watched the penalties and again, apart from the last one my 10 year old grandson could have saved most of them.

Ive got no issue with womens football.....its just the way its been politically shoved into the mainstream on the back of mens football that grates on me.....go and build your own sport like the mens game had to from day 1.

Exactly that, I will watch the odd game if netball on the telly now and again because seeing the speed of pass & move I find interesting.

I also think it’s way more impressive than basketball.
But I don’t tune in week after week….if I see it, I may watch for an hour, that’s it.

I was talking to a coach who coaches a women’s team for a professional side over here.

Now this is nothing to do with comparing the men’s and women’s game, I just found it interesting.

He said that women players are very literal when you coach them, as in if you say “Stand in that position and do that job” that is exactly what they will do rather than make decisions and go off script….i think England displayed that opinion perfectly yesterday, you could see how rigidly they stuck to shape and task…..that is a major difference in the game between men and women, you won’t see a Gasgoin or a Pirez or a Bergkamp or a Messi just do something conjured out of their own brain.

That said, technically speaking I watched some columbian bird give one of the best displays of good, old fashioned centre forward play I have seen for ages last year or whenever it was the World Cup for women…..if a man made those sort of runs, had the knowledge of what movements to make, made defenders work so hard, had the comparable physical presence as she did he would be the best centre forward in the world.

Got to be honest i just struggle to watch the woman's game, I was pleased England won, I think it's great young girls have good role models and potentially will get into sport/fitness...I've 2 girls, neither have any interest in football at all, if they did I'd support it wholeheartedly... here's my issue, my brother in law who works with me has been watching the whilst tournament, talking about it at work etc...I tried to watch a game the other day and turned it off, it was half paced, technically pretty poor etc..just not for me, I won't pretend to like something just to fit in... I said to him will you be watching the woman's prem league next season then? No way will he, cause the standard is shocking..  enjoy it for what it is but sorry it's not comparable to the mens game in any way

Nah mate , it’s as you keep saying , it’s the usual creeping standards.

there’s nothing worse than watching a top end premier league game or a World Cup match and some bint like Alex Scott or Kate carney is on chipping in their five pence worth from their vaunted experience of playing in front of league 2 gates . It’s not right whatever way you look at it .

I always find it funny that there is the ubiquitous bbc box ticking face on the football but on the nfl show after it , it’s purely men . Why ? Cause the nfl don’t f***ing stand for that nonsense.

I can honestly say, that I've never watched a game of women's football in my life...nor would I ever entertain watching one...makes me cringe listening to female sports pundits, and the f***ing jokers that entertain them on the box...infact I can't stand listening to any sport, where you get some ,has-been telling you how a game should be played🙄when they was some second rate player themselves 👍

I suppose we are just being miserable cnuts in all honesty. We don't go moaning about the women's Wimbledon final do we? But I'm with Stiff, keep women out of men's football, it's not even in the same timezone.

And that’s the crux of the matter, pushing them into a realm that’s not their own…..that’s not the same as the game imho.

These comparisons are forced when you push some bird into giving her opinion on the champions league final…..she’s never played at that level nor will she, everyone knows it including her.

But she’s copping a nice few quid to play this charade, she isn’t alone in that regard……will all know what it is, it’s a non conversation really.

Make your choices based on your own opinions and on reality…..I don’t watch rugby because it’s shite but, if for some reason I choose to watch a bit if I’m flicking through channels, then I know what I’m in for and I normally turn it over after 5 or 10 minutes.
