If they have you bang to rights and you give a no comment interview then you can't really make up a lie in the future as to where you were or why it wasn't you without being seen by the court or jury as guilty and lying as why didn't you say it in the first place, I feel a no comment interview you can't go back on so if i do give a interview i either know where i am already reguarding the nicking or i refuse and sit out the time in custody as i ain't ever been released early due to giving a interview from police custody that i know of..Having a good brief makes a difference though and iv'e just always had the duty solicitors rather than a personal one and there just fecking useless most of the time and my last nickings i haven't even had a brief and have had NFA on them..

No brief worth his salt is going to advise you to not go to interview.....by law theres certain things they have to disclose to your brief.....the rest is down to him to find out and the only way he can do that is by interview.....only a complete fool, like these berks you see on tv shows sit giving a no comment interview while acting all " im not bothered " yawning and suchlike......you've got to play the game....yes if you're guilty your going to no comment everything but youve still got to act.....how else are you and your brief going to find shit out ?.....ive had the same couple of briefs for nearly 30 years,at a guess id say they've saved me at least 70% of the time i could/should have actually done.

Sometimes not all the evidence against you is there within the 24 hours they have you in custody and new evidence can come to light and when they have all there evidence against you then you can give a interview knowing where you are 100%, if you have already given a no comment interview i just feel it's hard to go back on and try to make your case...

Best saying nothing until you know what they have nothing wrong with a no comment your solicitors advised you

The less you have to say the better I recon.

If you have given a no comment interview i feel it's against you if you then at a later date tell your side of the story. As why didn't you say something in the first place?, but like i said I've only had duty solicitors and not a lot of help they have been to be honest so unless i feel i can't cope with it,i trust  what has worked for me since 1997,lol..

He said he's never used a duty free solicitor (legal aid )

It doesn’t need to be a duty solicitor for legal aid.
These illegal immigrants appealing deportation use legal aid for their human rights solicitors.

Cheers.
