Personally, I really don't think it's hard al all to produce a rapid, gassy lurcher type if just speed and agility are required for a one dimensional game like Flyball. And it can be done in a couple of generations. Are the same dogs used for obedience?

Then that begs the question, if all you need is 'speed, agility & brains' then how does it seem that we can get it wrong breeding most our lurchers

 

It seems to be geared mainly to flyball, but I think this group caters to a wider audience. There are also people with Mali crosses who do IGP, Mali x APBT crosses. Mali/Collie X Whippet crosses. Some of them also want a dog that excels at a couple of different sports.

I was totally oblivious to this group and that there are "other" people besides the sleddog and lurcher community were cross breeding for a "sport", be it field or otherwise is a thing.
