It was manned almost exclusively by American personnel, coincidentally, the Saudi Airforce was run mainly by Lockheed with British and American instructors. When Saudi Arabian Airlines decided to have a Major Base in Jeddah, they turned to mainly British Engineers, the majority coming from Rolls Royce in Derby and British Airways in Cardiff, and people like myself who were already employed in the Middle East aircraft businesses. It took over 70 years before the workforce was “Saudi-ized “ but there’s still a core of western engineers. Most, if not all , third world countries airlines have depended mainly on western expertise, but in the last few years the Chinese have been making inroads. Cheers.
