I was in bits reading this, last time I really spoke to my old mate is after I heard a rumour about him being ragged by the police dog. I messaged him, "Now then Bri."

It wasn't long before it all came out, I'm pissing myself now, he said he was ragged by a Belgian Mouser. Hahahaha

you meaning shame it never got your throat lol

Always been a loveable wrong un, honest to god you would have never have known he was on drugs, good looking kid with healthy looking skin. He was a functional addict, he woked doing concrete repairs with his family, just very prone to going off the rails. He's off a Welsh family that moved up here in the 50's, think that explains it. Lol

Why’s that though mate because prison is hardly a punishment in the uk these days it’s like a holiday resort hardly a deterrent is it.

Look at the likes of Dubai and that crime is a minimal whys that ?

I hear you loud and clear mate, I honestly do.

Prison has never been a serious deterrent to career criminals, it’s always just been a kind of occupational hazard.

But we are not talking about career criminals here, we are talking about something else (imho)…..we are talking about a mindset and a culture of depravity on a scale that hasn’t been seen before.

Make no mistake, someone who is happy to stab you to death for your phone isn’t a career criminal….no, they are something else entirely.

Lad like us don’t understand that mentality and, again imho, we don’t understand how to deal with them…..in fact we can’t deal with them in a normal civilised way (as I think you allude to) which means our normal methods of punishment are useless.

One look at the United States tells you all you need to know about how effective prison is at combating a cultural mindset…..they have some of the most draconian sentencing in the world, it’s useless….totally ineffective !

Comparing the local twoccer or burglar you all knew in your boyhood 80s & 90s areas to now shows that folks just don’t understand the situation.

Zero tolerance and when the guards batter you no one gives a flying f**k,you forego any rights whatsoever over there when the doors close behind you, that fear keeps you toeing the line.

Which is law and order the crimes got to fit the punishment. Simple really

All that’s required is a complete change of the whole police force and the people in charge of them…..lol

This isn’t a policing issue, it’s a societal and cultural issue…..lay with dogs, get fleas….and there’s absolutely no sign or wish for the U.K. to not lay with dogs anymore.

No courtroom in the world changes that outcome.

Is it correct though, it would be a serious issue if crimes like this were on the rise, are they though, without looking at any stats I can't say I've seen a rise around these parts, in fact I've only heard of one house robbery in ten years.

Yeah, you hear about cars getting stolen all the time on FB locally, it's nothing new though.
