Because it’s a series of time frame stills and the earth doesn’t have a permanent dark side , but the moon does ?
Just my guess , Francie, I could be wrong and don’t want a debate, mate .

Cheers.

The moon has a permanent darkside from earth because of its rotation, but how can the earth be lit up an the moon not, when it's directly in front of it,I think there taking a serious piss out of us.

The camera is on a satellite orbiting the sun.a million miles away apparently.

It could be true, imagine the damage if a jet engine was started with a socket inside it ? Or the cost of the strip down  to retrieve a dropped socket ?

Cheers.

No Big Bang, more like the Big Bounce?

What if the Big Bang wasn't the start of all things, but a rebound from a colossal gravitational collapse ?

Yep, I always had trouble accepting that quantum exclusion principle.  🙂

Does it look real to you mate?

How come the whole earth is lit up but the moon ain't?

Pure speculation but knowing the earth is much much brighter than the moon either the camera settings or post processing of the image has reduced the overall image brightness to stop the earth whiting out. Consequently the moon now looks dull. Like when you photograph a close by object with the sun in the background.

You’ll also notice there are no visible stars in the image, because again the camera or image settings have been optimised to resolve the earth, the stars are then effectively drowned out.

The images often looked photoshopped because they are. As I said earlier, they don't take pics with a Nikon DSLR, their cameras will be more specialised to make them more useful for studying planets and moons. I imagine they record in infrared, UV, X-ray, etc. It's like studying the sun, it would be pointless studying the sun off photos that show us what the naked eye sees.
