Also, in space, would things not be affected by gravity and friction like they are on earth ? Like you can run much faster in air than you can in a swimming pool ? Well, it’s a well known factoid that on the ground the thing looked ready to fall apart, leaking fuel everywhere etc but they had to design it like that because it reached such speeds that when it was going all the sheets of metal expanded and it all fitted together properly……I read the plane was 8 or 9 inches bigger when in flight. One of my few great regrets was I had the chance to see in new year in London, get on Concorde and fly to New York and see in the new year there but I didn’t take it. Now, I’m sure someone will say that’s impossible as you can’t go back in time and I’m not going to open that particular can of worms trying to explain it ! LOL !
