Canary budgie or finch

Recommended Posts

My young lad has been asking for a budgie but with them only coming every weekend iv been putting him off plus I don't have space for an outside aviary so was thinking it might not be fair keeping something inside but thought I'd ask any on here there opinion on what they think and what is the easiest to keep along with prices etc so I know what to look for if I did decide to get em one I like the look of canarys myself but budgies maybe abit more interesting for him handling n let fly about the room?

Mate budgies don’t have to be locked in they will become quite tame and interact if you just leave the cage door open downside they do chew abit  but of the three you mention I would say from a kids perspective they would make the best pet and easy to get a clone if it drops dead on your watch lol good luck

Mules and canaries are best kept alone if you want it to sing. If you want a tame pet you can interact with though your better off with a parakeet type bird than a finch.

Likewise Dodger my nephew has a bunch of Canaries you're welcome to one for a youngster.....shouldnt have to be running round buying from crappy pet shops or whats the point of a forum like this.

I'm in Surrey mate and that would be great the only thing is I'm not sure if the cage would fit as I'm a standard hatchback but could get a different cage if that was the case..
