Speed doesn’t kill, having   brains does !

I'm not always sure about that mate, my last 3/4 cross was as thick as mince but still caught plenty of hares, it didn't have much going for it other than blistering speed.

Ok then mate I must have been seeing things with my own eyes lol. That was hares local, up Swinefleet, Selby, Caistor, Market Rasen. They can't have all been bad hares even if they are not on the level as the legendary Hull hare. Lol

throwing a dog to a stubble hare now an again is different mate

we will run about all that land only 30 mins from me rasen abit more see any lads will try a month out once a  week with a 3/4 grey see how it does

You think it was only run once the fields were cut, winter hares are strong wherever you run em mate.

If I was after a dog to just f**k about with for a bit of lamping and messing about spinning hares with , the three quarter collie grey would be perfect . As they generally throw a very nice easy type to look after, have half a brain and can be very nice looking animals , usually black or red with a tight coat .

when that or it’s half collie grey parent is put to a coursing stamp , you get a very different animal . It’s like you’ve upgraded it . The very best of coursing stuff adds more than just speed , it would be against the laws of nature if it did otherwise

You’ll always get freaks that pop up in other crosses that will excel in stuff they shouldn’t really. The blistering pace dogs running full pelt are enjoyable to watch heart it the mouth stuff and looks great when a catch comes off on whatever game it’s running  but it will catch less and be injured more than a dog with brains over a consistent period.

as like anything all depends on what land your running and then it’s horses for courses.

It can also make the pups terrified of foxes adding coursing in

Your right there ,well I like 34 crosses bull types in particular they suit me as I only dos about lamping twice a year  but it's true they get injured and u don't always have them very long but there good fun and it saves you ending up wi a kennel full of oldies
