My late son was part of a shark survey team in the Red Sea;   He spent a lot of time swimming amongst them and tagging them. Cheers

He was the spit of you charts , what an experience to have had...

I saw the pics of you swimming with the goldfish.

going down November this year to hopefully bump into the whale sharks mainly

My eldest son (he has dove/snorkelled with sharks in a few places) said the best place for numbers of whale sharks are the Galápagos Islands and the sea of Cortez for numbers, but there’s a few places in SEA where you can almost guarantee an encounter.

About a month ago saw black tip reef sharks at Koh Bida Nok, Thailand, wanted to see leopald sharks but was eluded.

Didnt rate Koh Tao, good prices for getting qualified, but very low visibilty.

Yes koh tao depends on time of year for visibility with currents etc

Avoid, speaking from a lot of experience, you’re going to Oslob?Dont go,it’s a circus nowadays, early 1990’s when I first went it was deserted, now hundreds of people mainly Chinese waitvwith a ticket for their timed slot in the water, horrendous.

My kids have both dove with sharks, both done whale sharks.

I did move down to Surrey two months ago thanks but still along road ahead really as just last week I my first mediation again and she will get two weeks to respond and if not which she didn't last time I'll have to try and get in court again to change the court order, I just want to see them equally through the summer holidays were as currently for the last few years the court order says shared but she gets 4 weeks and I get 2 i'd also like to have them every weekend as opposed to every other but I'm not sure that will be possible as she will say she also wants to see them at weekends and seems alot of dad's see there kids every other weekends

The benefit so far is I'm now just over an hour away from them so I get to pick them up around 5 30 on the Friday and drive them back dropping them off around 7pm on the Sunday we're as previously for the last 3 years there mum would bring them on the train dropping them off in Lancashire between 8 n 9 pm so by the time they got to mine it was more or less time for bed then do what I can on the Saturday horse riding go carting etc then Sunday morning bath breakfast rush to train station on the train for 3 hours drop them off at Euston wait an hour then get the return train back without them.

Long time since I was in koa Tao and never done any diving but sounds nice what you did apart from not seeing the leapard sharks but suppose if your qualified now the worlds your oyster as they say👍

People get taken by sharks over here quite often. Me and my mate were on the news when we were young blokes when a school of around 40 Hammerhead sharks were underneath us when we were on surfboards and didn't hear the shark alarm. We were filmed from a helicopter overhead. We were lucky they weren't Bull sharks.

That sounds like something out of jaws

Hammerheads are meneaters aswell aren't they

They say they are pretty harmless to humans but I'm sure I've heard of them attacking swimmers before.
