I have a grandchild being born soon in the sunshine state, that will be my next destination,I was actually thinking earlier me my son and his child will all have been born on different continents,Calif

Used to have them come to had at work. I thought they followed me around the park but turned out there were several in different places that would come and sit on my hand. They love mini suet pellets

Out with the dog a couple of hours ago and saw first hedgehog of the year on a back road  , put it in the hedgerow out of the way , was a big fat one.

My dog used to find and crunch hedgehogs,he wouldn’t be able to do the same to the local versions here.

Seen lots of young greenfinch about in the garden, thought it was a bit early and they were just small but this one was just sat on a tree branch by the feeders for quite a while.

I went out and picked it up, wasn't moving much, stuck it's beak in a pile of nijer seeds, it ate a few then flew off. 👍

Cheers, D.

Noticed the frog spawn on a small pond near me was nearly a month earlier this year probably down to the colder winter we had last year.

It’s the same as your mate mushroom a normal man but a third smaller evolved for scavenging in bins I think 😙😙

Still cool at 2C this morning, but dry and settled.., lovely morning to be out at first light. Stopped to use Merlin a couple of times. Nothing exotic but brilliant to hear the trees full of life again.
