Very few lads will part with a good ferreting dog takes time and patience to train one depending on the dog and work you have for it you will always get a half decent lamping dog put.ferreting dog very hard to get good luck hope u give one for the young lad my be better getting the [BANNED TEXT] up for him

Finding anyone selling a good ferreting dog is rare as hens teeth as everyone has said you'll be better off with a pup starting from scratch, most of the good dogs that are sold 9 times out of 10 will be anything but good just be buying someone's failure

Go on FB they loads and loads mate 

All work to whistle, work with nets ,lamp ,take hare ,and all under a year old 

But they in the money mate .

Is this a wind up ,a trained ferreting dog FFS ,who's going to sell you a dog that's took probably five years to get to a point that you can call it a ferreting, rabbiting dog,I tell you no one ,

Spend your money on a whippet pup bred from workers or a collie x grey x whippet.

Put the time in and you will realise why no one will sell you a good rabbit dog 

I don't mean to sound harsh but a lot of time goes into making a rabbit dog

If you have plenty of rabbits to ferret i suggest you buy a collie blooded dog for the boy. They have the intelligence to pick the game up very quick. 

Maybe a dozen outings with a dog that allready marks just to see how your new dog marks as there's a massive variation in how ferret dogs mark, from very subtle signs to 1000% unmistakable mark lol.

As has allready been said it will probably be difficult to drop on a ready trained dog. So I suggest buying a young dog or pup in yourself.

Any dog will mark rabbits to ground,and can be taught to hold in nets etc...Im always very suspicious of folks who will pay for a ready made dog of any typethey are the sort of person ,who can't be f****d to kennel stock all yr round,only keep their stock for the season....only things for sale ,this time of yr,have been spoilt and have faults....or been nicked from some poor c**t...unless someones genuinely had a tug,and is getting rid? But then they wouldn't have any dogs to sell , because they would of been confiscated

More rewarding getting a pup going yourselves ,if it's just for rabbits,then a whippet would be my choice
