My brother owned a 4x4 Sunny Pulsar gtir ,20 yrs back....was a weapon of a car...the speeds he used to hit in country lanes by me🙈😬...Ive owned and been in all sorts over the yrs from Evo's/ Imprezas/M sport/Rs turbos/RS500's/R32/34's/G60/Vrg golfs ..that little Nissan was something else 👍

For a car of their age they was summat special .. 0-60 in less than 5 secs, would still keep up with most modern fast cars .

No car is any better than another nowadays mate you get a Friday car that breaks every ten minutes or a Monday car, a rolls Royce will have a fiat part on and so on and so on, buying new cars is a lot

There was a maestro turbo that was a cozzie (escort) killer ..  Cars of the past have a lot more character imo .

A mate of mine complete petrol head has owned a lot of cars, and has settled on an A3 quattro 3.2 v6 I think basically a golfr with 4x4 cheap enough if you can find one

Anybody on here got a Beemer, thinking of getting a 4 series Gran Coupe, not impressed with this VW Passat I've got, looked after it well and had nothing but trouble with it for the last year.

I have just sold one a week ago. 16plate 430d grand coupe MSport Xdrive. I loved it but wasn't suited to my needs and Beemers in general are expensive to maintain, that was a big thing for me. Think tyres were around £200 each. Insurance was high.

The MPG I used to average around 40. Could get 50-55 on motorway but the urge to put it in sport mode and give it a boot once a week pulled them 50s straight back down......and you won't resist the urge!

Had a friend just sold his X3 MSport for same reason Regards maintennace costs. Needed rear brakes and was £800+ that was with employee discount.

Do your research on the engine type as some have issues with cam chains going around 100k and its a 2-2.5k fix if they go.

Really nice motor all in all but costly IMO.

Personally I've always liked ford's for reliability and cheap to maintain and the all important heated screen.

But currenely I'm back to subaru forester and my vivaro conversion for now!

40mpg is good enough for me tbh, the tyres on my Passat were over 600, Michelin CrossClimate. I know what you mean about motors, the novelty soon wears off and you begrudge forking out for them.

That aint the end of the world then.Loads of diesel motors will need a clutch and possibly a duel mass by then. Some before

Yep, went through water pumps in the space of 10 month, now sensors galore, one thing after the other, it's going.
