jukel123 9,290
I was reading yesterday that Blair accepted £ 100000 from an anti organisation, LACS I think, which helped Labour win the election. Part of the deal was that he agreed to push though the hunting with dogs ban. He says he now regrets it. Cheers mate! We forgive you, just like the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis who were wiped out partly on the basis of a lie and a dodgy dossier. But the reality is that the country is now governed this way. Policies are decided by he who pays the piper. And many tory contributers are foreigners. What are they getting in return? Or more like it what haven't they had? Virtually all our national, assets have been flogged. Is this democracy? Did we give permission? Starmer is doing a Blair, wooing the press to go easy on him and holding his hand out to big business for funding. What will the benefactors get in return for their generosity? Answer. Just the same goodies. What will we get whichever party wins? Fook all. This is not democracy its Hobson's choice. Which is no choice at all. Its rule by massive, global corporations. Just another jolly thought for the day Mack. Edited December 16, 2023 by jukel123 10 1

chartpolski 27,529
The Houses of Parliament spent 70 hours debating going into an illegal war with Iraq. They spent 700 hours debating The Hunting Act. Labour MP’s openly said it was not about hunting or animal welfare, it was about “ giving Tory toffs in red coats a bloody nose”! Blair has admitted it was a badly thought out law, but he had to do it to keep the left of his party on side so he and Bush could go to war . The vast majority of people thought it was just to stop fox hunting, they had no idea it was to stop almost all hunting with dogs. MP’s of ALL sides lie continually to us, they don’t have the welfare of the people or the country at heart, just their own and their party’s survival at the trough. There's no difference between Labour and Tory now. Cheers.

The very rich now control us whereas in the past foreign policy was more UK centric. Our national interests were pursued in preference to the interests of plutocrats and global capitalism. In a former age there was such a concept as one nation conservatism so british interests occasionally filtered down to Joe Public. There is now no pretence of one nation conservatism. Under Johnson, the tories accepted money from some very dodgy donors...Saudis and russians in particular. Let's not forget the clandestine involvement of Saudi Arabia in the gulf war and the naked aggression of Russia in Ukraine. Not forgetting Johnson's promotion to the Lords of press baron Lebedev, the russian born son of a known KGB spy. An appointment vehemently opposed by British security services. Bliar and Mandelson have never before freely admitted the link between the LACS bung and the ban. Now with a more enlightened and unshockable electorate they are freely admitting their acceptance of the strings attached to the bung. Let me answer this without wishing to sound confrontational mate….. Britain hasn’t been run for British interests since the end of the Second World War……the price of fighting Hitler at all costs was our gradual withering decline, it cost us everything. In fact, I would make a case that Britain hasn’t actually been run for Britain since we started paying politicians……when the toffs ruled they didn’t need some company’s foreign money, they already had money, the nation prospering and powerful meant they were prospering and powerful…..no shady free holidays on an oligarch yacht or a shindig in Brussels for them boys….they just sent the British army and took it. This isn’t a Tory thing or a Labour thing, it’s a main party thing ! 4 minutes ago, jukel123 said: Bliar and Mandelson have never before freely admitted the link between the LACS bung and the ban. They didn’t have to admit it, it was absolutely out in the open public knowledge and I’m shocked that an obviously well informed man with well formulated opinions that are based on knowledge didn’t know that…….it just shows that even well informed people can be completely ignorant of what’s happening round them.
jukel123 9,290
Agree entirely with the first part of your post, I'm entirely in sync with that. The second part I've already answered. He and Mandelson hope to be reincarnated under Starmer. In fact Starmer is 'taking advice" from them. Part of their reincarnation is to hang doggedly say sorry to decent people partaking in country sports for destroying a part of British life. We all knew of the bung. But this is the first time they have openly admitted and apologised for what was blatant meddling in the country's identity. You say you don't want to appear confrontational. Its decades too late that for that .Lol Nah, don't do that mate it wouldn't be you. Cantankerous shithouse that you are.

True. Watched the interview this morning of that tory baroness who her and her husband have made a fortune out of a dodgy ppe contract in the covid crisis but I will be surprised if they receive a criminal conviction.
