That’s a third that’s been caught in the UK then,impressive turtles,I have spoken to a bloke here who saw one holding a mallard,ambush predators,I have seen one near a brood of ducklings. Red eared terrapins, loads were sold as pets after that mutant ninja turtle film, loads got dumped as they can reach a fair size and live for years, high risk of food poisoning if your hygene is poor and they are kept in a tank, mate has his in an outdoor pond and as long as it don`t freeze solid they do OK. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If he ever needed to do anything that involved putting his hands in the water , he'd have to drain it until he could find the terrapin , then remove it while he did the work , because it used to try to bite him .
