Soft Lure Fishing

Recommended Posts

Been out a few times soft lure fishing on canals and had no luck. So decided to try my local river to lure fish for trout, according to out local Facebook page, lots in there and some up to 10lb, plenty of pics of 5lb plus posted. The river is awkward to get too a lot of it, so I got some waders of Temu, felt a dick in them as I looked like a giant camouflaged teletubby in them lol. Been a few times and still no luck. Am enjoying a couple of hours of spinning but it is hard work.

Have you been out with some body else? All gear working okay a that a that for you? I’d have thought you’d have atleast foul hooked summat by now mate haha keep at it, it gets addictive when you do start catching, the river here are low an weeds jist now so not ideal for spinning or lures unless it’s the deeper slow bends an places but it’s hard work an much better results on fly rod just now. What your river like? Big ole wide deep? Or faster rockier an shallower like a lot up here?

There's alot of gadgets out there now for fishing these days plenty to choose from can cost a fortune with everything plus your rod licence like every thing else

Don’t bother with even a rod , just a Spool of line , lead weight and a hook ,and a decent bait …… jobs a good un .

Hobo hand line are excellent, I had a couple of them in motor for the kids when we was passing streams an ponds on our travels, somebody stole em with a bag a nets an a long net tho a few years ago when j left me motor parked in dales unlocked, I was more gutted about the wee hand lines than anything else, need to order more, might do it now infact haha or I’ll forget again, best tenner even spend but can use a coke can if your trampy ahaha

I used to get a lot of salmon and trout by fair means but mostly foul as a kid, cast nets, gaffs, electrofishing,I was always very inventive as the goal was always results,I fished for fish, not to try and catch them. But the biggest thrill nowadays is to hook a decent fish and have it take you down a couple of pools on a tight line, but I do sometimes miss the old days.

Not keen at all tbh unless it was on my doorstep   ,plus  wild stocks declining and I wouldn’t eat it from a mountain stream let alone the Thames  , love catching Anguilla Anguilla, but would rather not nowadays incase of deep hooking , found a decent one holed up on a small stream and just took a short vid of it , was feeding on stickleback  and left it be .

Yeah my mate come out, but was as clueless as me lol. And the river is down tbh in places and it's its just coming out of town and full of rubbish in parts. Going off Facebook and YouTube it does get hammered by fishermen
