The government has just estimated that to reach Net Zero will cost the taxpayers one TRILLION pounds.

Contrast this with the government estimate for HS2 of 35 BILLION pounds , which has risen to 130 BILLION pounds !

So we could be looking at FOUR TRILLION POUNDS to reach Net Zero !

To put that in perspective that’s a MILLION quid a day, every day, for TEN THOUSAND YEARS !!!

Whenever I hear turbines being discussed it always makes me giggle , We were once driving along the west Cumbria coastline , passed the windfarms,  to wherever and my mate told the yts lad in the back that it wasn’t windy today as the fans that blow the wind back out to sea hasn’t been turned on. 

A few weeks later , another lad was driving us and the yts proudly announced from the back “ I see it’s not very windy today eh? “ 

that drivers face will stay with me forever

Right of the Windmill subject but similar to Stiff's. Two Chippies used to give me and a mate a lift to a Wimpey building site on the way one of the Chippies looking into a field and said, isn't it clever how they train those cows to eat in a straight line. Me and my mate cracked up.

Personally I've no problem with Windmills or Waterwheels it's just going back to an old way of getting power just a different sort of power. They put a Archimedes screw water station on the local weir and it just sits there generating power. Perhaps there should be water wheels and this type of generator on every river and steam imo more reliable than wind.

Now to me the water thing makes sense, the wind don’t always blow and the sun don’t always shine but rivers keep moving……but as usual, the government want a one size fits all approach.

Maybe, they should be helping community’s to install infrastructure that best utilises what they have around them?

The Chinese are opening up coal fired power stations on an industrial scale to keep up with the demand in solar panels and wind turbines, yet as arry says we have some of the biggest tidal rise and falls in the world the river Severn alone could generate a massive amount of continuous power in all weathers yet no money to be made from it in grants so no progress the whole green energy that we are having pushed on us is all just smoke and mirrors we are having our pants pulled down on all fronts, HAS ANYONES ENERGY BILL ACTUALLY GONE DOWN ?????

I keep reading how the Chinese put two fingers up to the greening of energy whilst amassing a formidable army and claiming the south China sea.  We don't seem to sanction them in any way perhaps because we rely on importing their cheap goods.

Whenever I've read how intelligence is distributed by race, the Chinese always come out on top. Its showing, scarily!

They are spinning today Stiff. Sixty miles an hour winds in Cumbria. Like them or not, the turbines are a fantastic piece of engineering. The stress on their component parts must be huge. There's a big wind farm in the Solway Firth (Robin Rigg). How they managed to get them to stay put, with the combined effects of gale force winds, shifting sands and the second fastest tides in the country, is beyond my brain cells' capacity.

The windmills do not generate nowere near enough power,the materials used to make them are totally unrecyclleable,so will have to be buried,the amount of oil an grease needed to keep them spinning is a joke,its far from green energy,its a scam just like most of the green ideas,big profits are being made which we will never see or gain from.

They are attached to giant slip leads and McHull holds them in place !
