illegal migrant bill

Does it have a chance? Or just more theatre?  Clearly majority public opinion is pushing this that's politics as it should be but also Clearly the tories need to do something, trying won't cut it this time, labour opposition will  probably stop many who borrowed their vote to the tories to sort brexit will not go back to labour could be good news for smaller parties? It feels like the people have drawn the line but are they listening?

The push back is definitely gathering momentum, whether or not the government actually do anything remains to be seen.

The bill should clear this stage, but a government spokesman said today it will get bogged down in the Lords who will try to block it.

He said if there’s no movement on it by the end of the year (!) they may have to use the Parliament Act to get it through.

Nothing will happen until after the next General Election and by that time it will be to late, Labour will be in power and will drop the bill and open the already wide floodgates even further !

Cheers.

What is the bill an who brought it forward?

To automatically deny anyone asylum coming in not using the proper channels  and deport them and also to ban them from ever entering the country again.

Will it get back dated though .

They are saying it will be retrospective to the date it was put to parliament.

But honestly, I don’t think it will be enacted.

Labour will get in and drop the bill.

Cheers.

It's all bollox imho the tories are trying to push through a bill that any sane person would totally agree with but like has been said labour will scrap the bill so then the tories will use it against labour in their red wall seats in the run up to a GE next year.
