That was between the cattle grids on the st Ives st just coast road. Near all the tin mines. I was just happy to be able to park somewhere scenic and not pay £6 parking!

Epic bit of coastline. f***ing treacherous too! Ha

Yesterday morning yeah. Did the low tide. Could’ve shot some decent wrasse but left them be. Found a decent pollack but my mask was fogging like f**k. Need to sort that for tomorrow.

It was mostly about getting used to using a gun rather than a pole etc. tbh I just f**k around, nothing serious.

You got a rod with you?

Have a spin for pollack, mackerel etc

Yeah mate, four piece travel rod. I’m actually thinking of having a wander a bit further with that rather than the spearo gear. I prefer going in on a low tide really anyway.

Tbh I just like wandering about rock hoping. The fishing is totally secondary. It’s like it justifies the wanderlust.

I’ve fancied going Scilly for a few years now. I reckon it’d be pricey though. Looks heavenly!

I been a few times, Mrs worked there for 7 seasons before we got together.

Totally chilled place (out of season) houses are expensive (very) but cost of living isn't extortionate because your spending is limited.

Its not big enough for us outdoor lads, I walked every footpath on St.Marys in 2 days ? I visited every off island there was a boat trip to and they are really a step further but you'd need a certain mindset to live there.

We nearly did, but we didn't get the job, with hindsight I'm glad really but if your into fishing and the sea, absolute bliss ?

Cheers, D.

September and October are great months down here I think, still warm enough to do beach days, the sea is the warmest at that time, the droves of toursits are gone... and you can get out and about a bit more... I always recommend people coming to see us out of season..

September I think my favourite month Kev great sea fishing, good for mushrooms and fungi. Ferreting end of the month to train Kits up. Still warm (usually) leaves starting to turn nice light.

As you said in another post telling your kids how lucky they are to live where live. My old man would stop look around and say "do you know people down here don't appreciate where they live". I don't think theres a days ferreting with my mate that we don't stop look at the view and say you cant buy that. Probably just trying to catch our breath us old fuckers Lol. Lot of out perm's are steep mind but love it, you are either going up a hill or down one in Devon.

Cheers Arry

It's putting my text in the quote .... Great.

It's a cracking bit of coast for huss, conger, pollack and wrasse.

There's a cracking pub called the Gurnards head near Zennor with some cracking fishing; bit sketchy getting down if rough

The difference between  A and  B roads.  The B roads have two wheel tracks with grass in the middle The A roads  are much the same other than having occasional passing places. Motorways are northern contraptions that don't exist in proper country.

How they should be

That was pretty much what I found. I think we were there from Monday to Friday. I walked all the footpaths over the first couple of days with my sketchbook (I walked the entire coastline in under a day) and then spent the remainder of the time revisiting the places I'd liked best for some oil pastel drawings.

It was lovely but, like you say, I'd get bored of not being able to vary my marathon hikes.
