Lesser these days but for many years it was viewed as the natural progression for para regt jncos .

Id estimate three quarters of Hereford will have had some sort of 16 air assault brigade background .

i mentioned to me pal you was an engineer in the paras stiff he said he will a jumped out a plane once and been in no firefights ?

Too many mates ex forces and still serving, nothing but respect from me... never served a day in my life but been very close to a few of them and seen the mental and physical scans from war first hand

What do people think the job of the special forces is ? Hearts and minds ? Build schools  ? Give out food parcels ? No it’s to covertly close and kill the enemy, particularly those at the top of vario

I would like to see the bbc do a documentary on how Tony Blair ended up being worth £ 50 million.                        The Real war criminals are Bush , Blair and the people how controlled them .

I’m not privy to what would have been happening elsewhere but I know that when lads I know attended it , they were regarded as having tried to better themselves mate . You can’t ask fairer that that can you ?

in this day and age without a doubt

do you think  educated sensible men join the infantry to be cannon fodder risk there life

to make the c**ts in power richer and to give them more power

but that’s just my opinion we’re all entitled to one

Or maybe they feel a sense of pride in their country and have the balls to put the kit on and get in harms way.
through my career as an infantry soldier I needed to know 11 different weapon systems inside out. Learn hundreds of nemonics and break down each part into its component meaning I was an instructor in over a dozen disciplines including being a mapric instructor specialist where you have to understand transverse Mercators and re grid a map using longitude and latitude, work a full array of signal equipment and use batco so the enemy doesn’t know what your saying. I was a panther and warrior DMI and gunnery instructor, range qualified the list is endless. Then as you move up the ranks you have the constant paperwork that’s needed to look after your troops, book rations plan a exercises deal with the endless admin that a platoon of blokes need. Then you can specialise which means learning a whole new job. You have to be able to work under immense pressure and problem solve in the middle of a battle with rounds and artillery landing all around you.
that’s just a quick response off the top of my head.
don’t ever think an infantry soldier is a stupid bullet stopper as you will be way off the mark.

No point arguing with someone who has completed call of duty on the easiest level and became a expert of warfare
