Sad to hear earlier that Paul Mariner, former Ipswich Town forward and England international has passed away after a brief battle with brain cancer. Good player in his day, rip

Watched him play for Arsenal (and against Arsenal 78 cup final but I try to forget that)   , he had a decent career club level & international

Thats a shame he was a good old fashioned centre forward i enjoyed watching that Ipswich side of the late 70's Mariner,Eric Gates,Alan Brazil,Mick Mills the 2 Dutch lads.......sad to hear.

I remember watching the England team walk out at the old Wembley and he sort of stood out, not sure why as Keegan had just as good a hair do :thumbs: and i wasn't a total footy fan just a kid on a school trip to watch England play as such..Fecking Cancer...:censored:

Born and brought up in our village. The mariners had the house I was born in before my mum and dad bought it. Not sure if that's where he was born though
