Good answer, I was just curious. The bit I don’t get re the culling, is most of the time I’ve seen real good litters, there aren’t usually many pups spare so it’s a moot point anyway.

Suppose the reason for that is they didn’t want a big litter to begin with just enough for some variation to pick from to sort there self out an there friends they didn’t also want to over tax the bitch an wanted to keep the pups well fed an plump makes sense when your only wanting to please your self probably wasn’t interested in selling the remaining or having to deal with random people or having random people coming to there gaff

I reckon that too but whippets seem to be one breed that make good companions for kids, even dogs from long hunting lines. Not as important to get working homes.

What are they like as a watch/guard dog, it's a cross I'd like when my old pit crosses pass and be a dual purpose dog. i remember the bloke that taught me ferreting having one but can't remember if it guarded.

You should see some of the lines over here, the pups have the look of a hard eight year old dog. In my experience the red dogs are a lot more savage than the blues, throwing more to the dingo side.

Could be, I know the old cattle blokes tried straight cross EBT/dingo but they were too full on and would kill calves and god help the sheep. These could have been put in to the line though. Like a lot of breeds, it's a bit of a mystery I think.

One thing I do know about proper ACDs is you would be hard pressed to find a better biting guard for your truck anywhere. They also have an inborn hatred for the indigenous people if not raised by them. If you lived over here you could totally understand this behavior.

I doubt many would want to go back and give up the grog, drugs, houses, cars, pensions for a bit of bark to sleep under and witchety grubs good chap. They need to get over it, who's land wasn't invaded at some stage and still is being.

I agree. I've ordered my pup from the same person who bred Noggin. I placed my order about three or four months ago but the bitch still hasn't started her season.

I was rereading several of my kelpie books recently, in preparation for the pup later in the year, and the bloke who owned the original Kelpie (i.e. the dam of the second Kelpie who the breed was named after) gave away all the pups he bred from her. Needless to say, certain types then went on to breed from the pups and charge a fortune, claiming all sorts about how they'd bred the original kelpies.

You might think I'm being a bit hard or redneck but we have them living next door in my new place, 3 days ago they threw baits over the fence. Luckily my dogs were all locked up but my mrs cats took the baits, killing one and costing us hundreds to fix the other, bad when we have a mouse plague here atm. I got nothing against what color people are,  these cnts are treacherous, dirty trash but I dislike my ancestors more for not clearing the place better. One good thing is the mrs is on my side about moving back out bush.
