mushroom 14,100
I buy about 3kg of the bottom of the breast (pecho de cordero) every week for the dog. Plenty of fat, meat and a bit of bone.. I always fry a bit off for me, with mint and eat it as a snack

TOMO 28,834
its £4 for a pound in weight.....thats cheap enough aint it....
Ken's Deputy 4,462
Tomo; Based off what you just said, I took my scales to my freezer. I bought Two carrier bags. I have One in there. From which I've already taken some meat. K? That bag alone weighs Eight Pounds! So, if we extrapolate that I'm probably buying, say, 15 lbs Plus, a week? Lamb alone. Then, there's all my own meat for the week. Including a nice, beef steak? And my butchers bill is only ever between twenty and thirty quid. Thirty quid, frankly, would make my eyes widen. chartpolski 28,004
Used to get whole rib cages for free from a few butchers in the grainger market in Newcastle, then it went to 50p, the £2 . I now get it from a huge halal butchers in Newcastles west end. Ribs, chicken carcasses, beef bones, etc. Not all goes to the dogs, some of the choice bits go in the slow cooker ! ! Cheers. The Mrs won't eat it (too much fat), more for the dickhead and me I say I always come out of the butchers with a bag of scraps too. To say they're Muslim, they bloody love my dog and make sure he gets his treats. Hard to pass the shop and not get called back and a slab of beef fat etc thrown out the door for him

sandymere 8,263
I get lamb cages and top of the breast for free from local butcher, split it into portions and freeze. Makes a change from rabbit, more fat and the spine portion of the cages keep the teeth clean. Edited March 16, 2021 by sandymere
