Had a cracking start to the season doing some good numbers with the bitch then she came in season mid december and not been out lamping since but more out hunting with a small mixed pack of bushing dogs and done fairly well tbh.

Sometimes i need to mix it up with my hunting as i usually just flat out lamping but enjoying hunting with a little mixed bushing pack the more and more we get out.

Crops already up a bit mate ground dried out defo easier than 3 week ago I think had good run today on walk still pulling so not soft yet no young

Gotta end on a high an a positive one when we stop the lamping for the season but hunting don’t stop there really I’m sure over the summer there be a few bits an bobs the dog will take on general walk abouts

We still pretty soft here, and it’s mostly  either very low on the winter barley or just drilling spring crops now. I know what you mean but always think by rights an animaL that’s had the nutrition of the first spring grass and has built itself up for mating season be flying now. Certainly the fox and deer seem to be strong and motoring now. Won’t be long though and bellies be full and it’s time to stop. Like I said I lamp till end of this month if weather right then we start lambing
