Work with a lad who has a rally prepared one, mostly does hill trials with it I think. 
I remember the scrappies being full of them in the 80’s, you’d get 40 notes for them. Lucky if you could buy a shitey 1.3L for less than 10 grand now. If I only knew then what I do now ?

My old man all but cries over it; he's had over 20 of them and cortinas. Drove them into the ground and scrapped em all

He’s 66 I reckon. I lived in Northampton at the same time as Santa Pod was in it’s heyday. Brilliant day out. Just as an aside. I had the Lotus mk2 Cortina after having the Anglia and the Escorts. One of the finest, however, was the Urin Savage mk2. That was like driving an aeroplane. When we returned to the UK in 84 we bought the Escort XR3 and then the XR3i. Both brilliant cars. Jok.
