Kizzarty 1
I knocked one up last year and found it way easier to strip the timber after I remembered to buy concrete release agent. Saves loads of time and stops the wood getting wrecked, so you can use it again. I tried diesel once, but it didn’t work as well and made a mess. If you're doing a few pads, it’s worth having a proper release agent handy. Edited July 14, 2025 by Kizzarty

Drvista 3
I’ve poured a few pads on my own, and the thing that saved my back was using a portable cement mixer for sale that I’d picked up after getting tired of shoveling in a wheelbarrow. It’s light, mixes fast, and made small pours way less of a slog. For tight spots or quick batches, it kept the pace steady without wearing me out.
