I was sat here, trying to keep half an eye on that video, as I cocked my ear to the speaker. Trying like fukk to decipher a word said, whilst catching images of 'Trainers'.

This is why I'm asking about a Book, see? I can barely hear shit.  Maybe, given a book lead, I can find a Kindle sort of copy I can blow up to comfortably readable size?

For my sins I have almost every hooligan book published and there are some shockers.

I would recommend "Top Boys" which details most top firms its easier reading than most as its more of a interview style. One of the most entertaining and believable was "Naughty Forty" which follows one of Stokes Top Lads not just about football but his life and hardships.

I've always found the carry on childish tbh.

Same here though i was glad and marched with them when they came from all over the country to protest in Rotherham in 2014 about the child grooming scandal that rocked the town.

One interesting thing that I’m sure a few lads know is that Millwall is actually in East London, on the isle of dogs to be exact.

Its just Millwall football club that is in south London, they moved over there in the early 1900s

Interesting snippet there, Wilf. I must admit, I've never had a clue where Millwall actually was. Though, saying that, I couldn't dig a pin in any part of London, if asked to denote a teams area. I just don't know London.

Anyway, I just bought Dytko's recommendation. Typically brutal price for 'Course Study' books. Happily, I managed to grab a s/h paperback for a tenner. God knows what it'll do to my eyes!

Then, as the Amazon receipt for that came in, how was I ever supposed to resist a sick squid Kindle edition of " No One Likes Us - We Don't Care "?!   Bound to be the usual load of old bollocks, as told by now fifty year old, pot bellied men. But, I'm sure it'll be good, light entertainment for tonight.

Going to places out of your locality and comfort zone and getting into tricky situations is a right of passage for many young lads, it’s how friendships are formed and bonds made.

Football lads just took that mentality to football that’s all and it progressed.

Yep ,got to admit I get a twinge of embarrassment remembering those days ,but on the flip side ,I learnt a lot about myself and about others ,someone mentioned a right of passage ,and that's about right ,for working class youngsters ,

 

Edited to add ,regarding Millwall ,seen about twenty of them get a terrible beating at Everton in the early 70s  and every single one of them went down fighting ,I think a couple of them got stabbed ,but they impressed the fk out of me .

I've just never understood that mob mentality. 

I can remember a documentary years ago about a firm, I think it was either Chelsea or Wolves. 

Well one of the top guys went other to a lad and asked him something like "Are you Wolves mate?" pretending to be on his side.  When the lad said yes he waited until he turned around and sly shotted him spark out! 

If you're going to beat up somebody and risk jail I don't think football is a good enough reason. 

I'm not old enough to have been drinking in the 70's and 80's but seeing some carry on now is embarrassing.
