An odd covid day

Recommended Posts

This morning, We went to crematorium to scatter mother in laws ashes that had been held there for months due to covid restrictions earlier in the year.  Came home and took the spaniel round the orchards for a run.  Sounded like a couple of shooters were out roost shooting the pigeons over in the big wood. Back through the cows that just stood looking at us. Back home,;  Nothing on the box, fell asleep on settee.,, dog fell asleep on it's bed!  Mrs  is playing games on the computer.  End of another day.  Just another odd day in these covid times. I suppose i could go and look for a lost tin of air gun pallets that I don't  really need.  Still tomorrows another day that's going to be hot and sunny in the tropical south of England. I hate days like this that for some reason were just flat.  Things could have been achieved but didn't happen.

Life's shit at the moment mate, but I've had more heart ache in the last few years than any man deserves, but today my niece gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and I found a pound coin on my walk with the dogs down to the allotments.

Two completely different nice things, but enough to make me sit in my man cave with a bottle of wine, and think life could be a lot worse.

Chin up, mate ?

Cheers.

I had a 3 mile wander today wind was blowing a good un a pheasant burst out of cover and flew real low away from me one of those perfect situations when you’ve got your shotgun I had my rifle with me ? and then I see another one in the middle of a field of rape I took a pop at it and missed.

Not to worry I’m on a 12 hour shift at 4:15am tomorrow lol things can only get better.

Cheer up Meece lol and congrats to you and your niece Chartpolski

i painted the shed while listening to someone half a mile away shooing pigeons all morning, thought i had earned enough brownie points, but the wife has written me a list of stuff to be done tomorrow too ?

That's a bummer.  I dont feel down but some days are like this.  I once was out decoying in the morning  with instructions to be back at lunchtime because we were expected at her uncles birthday.  The bloke is a complete nob and I cant stand the helmet.!  it was one of the best potential days that I could have ever had.  I was so tempted to stay shooting but I knew that I'd  never hear the end of it if I didn't  turn up. ????  now that did depress me.  I still remind her of this day now many years later.  Well she's had to pay for it.

sounded like an ideal time to get a puncture in the middle of nowhere and be a few hours sorting it out ?

I'd save every penny because it's very likely worse things will come before they get better.

At the time we only had one car so she was stuck at home.  I was strongly tempted to stay shooting but ĺ would have just said that the decoying  was more important and bollocks to her uncle.  If she had a second car at home  I would have done but the Truth is that we are a team and it would have been wrong of me to be selfish and it had been arranged.  There would be another day.  Shes gold dust so I look after her.  even though it can be a pest.

That's 6 hours for the 3 nights I did, only 2 hours a day. My body is crying out for sleep but just couldn't shut off properly. ?

I tried to put a new window in the shed yesterday but it pissed down all day so that was a write off, trying again today between showers and back to work tonight after a week's holiday (gardening mostly) sometimes things go don't go to plan but a minor hiccup in the great scheme of things, always someone worse off than yourself.

Congrats to all the family Charts ?

Cheers, D.
