Take both, throw the hmr in the nearest pond and keep the .243, job done! If you need anymore advice ask away it's free! 8 Quote Link to post

Arguably a better round penetration wise I know, just over a short range. The first 22cf that I saw was a 222 in about 1993. Back when No one used anything bigger than a 22lr. That was considered a powerful rifle and now plod says that it ain't man enough.!! People didn't shoot Fox because they were the preserve of the local hunt for the gentry. The hunt was a waste of time and it was driven drives to standing. after I saw that 222 and had a go with it I soon got my 223. Wow what a cannon. No one had silencers either. Another thing plod resisted. I could write a book about the shooting characters and my experiences on the drives. 6 hours ago, Stavross said: I know, but it’s expensive bunny bashing if I don’t see a fox take two rifles. The centre fire on your back and the small one in your hands. Swap over takes a few secs if the need arrives . Edit.. over the years I've taken a lot more Charlie's with my old BSA 22lr than I have with my centre fires. I was always out rabbiting with the BSA and ran into charlie. I used cover, background, the wind and movement to get within range which I found to be when the eyes looked like binoculars. They usually dropped 2ithin a couple of yards. Stavross 18,113
Well I took the.243, didn’t see any gingers and only a few rabbits, I’ll leave them alone for now in the hope that at some point I’ll be able to take the young lad from the shoot out, without been fined or becoming a super spreader Quote Link to post
