I have had a couple of SJs years ago and the other shoot members in their Toyotas ,Landrovers etc used to take the piss until one day when they all got stuck going  up a muddy bank . I had the last laugh though when I overtook them all laughing ?????

I think a lot of trucks are let down by the drivers ? . I used to drive a Subaru brat pickup and even though there wasn’t much wheel clearance and I had road tyres on I still used to get everywhere and leave big old 4x4s behind.

Lotsa 4x4,s on our shoot Izuzu,s Landy,s Toyota,s but the main picker up has a little pug van and it gets everywhere we do ,as u say the driver not vehicle

True in a lot of ways, although I’ve pulled my pals van out a good few times when he’s driven it into the soft stuff?. He does his best with it, but it’s no 4x4?.

I have had a lot of 4x4s but admittedly my SJ410 with suspension over axle conversion drain pipe snorkel and plug holes to let the water out meant it went any where it was my main transport following and assisting on a hunt, when I used to rock up people were like how on earth did you get here great little motors I had a Vitara as well very good motors but not a patch on the SJ for character.

Wish I had a Jimney with a gun turret ? What mountings have you used, will they fit my Defender?

This is how it is fixed to the car.

Ninety five percent i shoot from the back of the truck. An odd time i might have to change position to either the bonnet or standing on the door sill either side.
