Should milage not be recorded on every mot?

That’s why I’d rather pay £800 with the high mileage than 3k clocked ??

thing is service history is only as honest as the guy that stamps the book, many local small garages do friends a favour.

If the car seems right, try them for a gearbox service and an extended warranty on the box

I've just rang them and pushing for 6 months free warranty that covers it, they are doing a service, cambelt and mot in the price but there's no proof the gearbox has been serviced.

It should of been done at least once when it was still under its warranty service plan, from a good second hand dealer the car should automatically come with 3 months warranty and if they are doing all the other work before they sell it, it wouldn’t take them much to do the box as well

I've spoken to Seat and the only service it has had done at the main dealers is at 39K. I asked her if the gearbox had been done then but she didn't have anymore details.

I also rang the independent garage where it's had it's last 3 services and the lady said that it hasn't been done there.

I told the dealer this and they said they will do the oil on the box and give me a 6 month warranty.

Don't know what to do, it looks in great condition but just got quoted on the c**t and it's 500 bar extra to insure over my current car.

I just love the thought of having a plain looking family  car that's rapid, gets to 60mph in 7 secs and is great on fuel.

The dealer couldn’t be any more fare than that, I would of said a 40000 mile service at a main dealer would be a major and the box should of been done, everywhere I’ve worked 40000 mile service is everything

I put a gearbox in a polo for my lad a while back and when I was trying to get one I was told by a vw breaker that vw gearbox’s have a very small oil capacity and if they are used to tow should have an oil cooler fitted or else they cook and frequent oil changes are a must, ?

If I remember correctly the dsg box takes about 4lts if its Quattro it’s about 5lts, there’s a proper procedure to change it, you can’t just drop it out and fill it, it has to be above a certain temperature and you have to flush it through the solenoids, when I worked for iveco I used to do it on the new daily automatic and you had to fit the diagnostic to operate the box to remove all the oil, you could damage the box if you put to much oil in or not enough, my mate said vw/Audi say it should be changed every 4 years or 40000 miles, he recommends 2 years or 20000

Went to see it and I walked away, wasn't as spacious inside as I read it was plus when I turned the blowers on it stunk like a wet Patterdale. I asked him if there was a dead dog under the bonnet, to top it off he said no test drives were allowed due to covid, so I was fine to sit in the car and start it up but couldn't take it for a spin. ?

Honestly I've had enough of the c**ts, I'm leaning towards a Passat now but just need to drop on the right spec.

It needs to be at least a GT model, I hate bog standard cars. ?

The car is getting put on hold, I've been put on flexi-furlough for the next 2-3 weeks and with them laying 57 off this week times are worrying.

I'm booking myself on the 360 course this week.
